Apply for Italian dual citizenship directly in Italy
(you will have to move and live in Italy)
This alternative is another way to apply for recognition process jure sanguinis and must be carried out exclusively at the Comune (County) of residence in Italy. The process lasts between 6 and 12 months, being the fastest way to obtain the recognition. The applicant must transfer her/his residence to Italy and register in the Comune. For this, you must have a Passport with at least one year of remaining validity and must have legally entered Italy.
Pros and cons of this option:

is the fastest of all (6 to 12 months) and offers the immediate possibility of living in Italy
no need to hire a lawyer (everything is done in person)
MAIN CONS:
you must move and live in Italy
could be the most costly option
if your Italian ancestor is or was a woman and she gave birth before the year 1948 or married to a non-italian before those dates, the application is commonly rejected
